Immich

Immich is our family photo library - automatically back up and organize all your photos and videos in one place.

Logging In

  1. Go to photos.lothloriengrove.org
  2. Click Login with OAuth
  3. Authenticate with Pocket-ID using your passkey

  • Backs up photos and videos from your phone automatically

Timeline View

  • Browse all photos chronologically

App Setup

  1. Install the app
  2. Server URL: https://photos.lothloriengrove.org
  3. Tap Login with OAuth
  4. Authenticate with Pocket-ID
  5. Enable Background Backup in settings
  6. Choose which albums to back up

Enable Background Backup

Go to app Settings → Backup → enable “Background Backup” so photos upload automatically even when you’re not in the app.

Uploading Existing Photos

From Computer

  1. Log in at photos.lothloriengrove.org
  2. Click the Upload button (cloud icon)
  3. Select photos/folders to upload
  4. Wait for upload to complete

From Phone (Manual)

  1. Open the Immich app
  2. Tap the + button
  3. Select photos to upload
  4. They’ll be added to your library

Sharing with Family

Share Individual Photos

  1. Open a photo
  2. Tap Share
  3. Choose family members or create a link

Create Shared Album

  1. Go to Albums
  2. Create new album
  3. Add family members as collaborators
  4. Everyone can view and add photos

Privacy

  • All photos stored on our family server
  • No cloud services or third parties
  • Face recognition runs locally (not sent anywhere)
  • You control who sees what

Troubleshooting

Photos not backing up

  • Check that Background Backup is enabled in app settings
  • Ensure the app has permission to access photos
  • Check WiFi-only setting if on cellular
  • Try opening the app to trigger a sync

Search not finding photos

  • AI processing takes time for new uploads
  • Wait a few hours for face/object detection to complete
  • Try different search terms

App won’t connect

  • Verify server URL: https://photos.lothloriengrove.org
  • Check your internet connection
  • Try logging out and back in

Upload stuck or slow

  • Large videos take longer
  • Check your internet speed
  • Try uploading fewer files at once
