Creating Your Account

1. Go to flyingspaghetti.monster
2. Click Create account
3. Choose your username (this becomes @username@flyingspaghetti.monster)
4. Use your Pocket-ID email address
5. Complete registration

App Setup

1. Open your Mastodon app
2. Enter server: flyingspaghetti.monster
3. Log in with your account credentials

Features

Posting

• Write posts up to 500 characters
• Add images, videos, polls
• Set content warnings for sensitive topics
• Control who can reply (public, followers, mentioned only)

Following

• Follow people on our server or any other Mastodon server
• The “federated” timeline shows posts from across the Mastodon network
• The “local” timeline shows posts from our server only

Privacy Controls

• Public - Anyone can see
• Unlisted - Visible but not on public timelines
• Followers only - Only your followers see it
• Mentioned only - Direct message

The Fediverse

Mastodon is part of the “Fediverse” - a network of connected social platforms. You can:

• Follow people on other Mastodon servers
• Interact with users on Pixelfed (Instagram-like), PeerTube (YouTube-like), and more
• Your @username@flyingspaghetti.monster works across the whole network

Troubleshooting

Can’t find someone to follow

• Make sure you’re using their full address: @username@theirserver.com
• Search for their full address in the search bar

Posts not showing up

• Check your privacy settings
• Pull to refresh
• The federated timeline can have delays
